Paruppu Thuvayal(Paruppu Thogayal) is a simple and yummy dish which can be served as a side dish for Idly/dosa or we can mix the thuvayal with a plain rice and ghee and have it with pappad . Whenever we feel bored of doing sambar/ kuzhambu, this Paruppu thuvayal is a best substitute.

Ingredients:
Thurdhal | 1 cup |
Peppercorns | 1/2 Teaspoon |
Red Chillies | 3 |
Grated Coconut | 2 tablespoon |
Few Curry Leaves | 3 |
Salt | To Taste |
Ghee | 1 Teaspoon |

Method:
- Pour the ghee in the pan and fry the peppercorns, red chillies and thurdhal till the dhal changes its color to light brown.
- Grind these along with the salt, curry leaves and grated coconut by adding little water
- Paruppu thuvayal is ready to serve with plain rice or with Idly/dosa.
